Ridgefield's city council appoints a new mayor.
📰 News
Ron Onslow was appointed as Ridgefield's Mayor at the City Council meeting on January 11th, with Jennifer Lindsay appointed as Mayor Pro Tem.
Onslow, who has been on the City Council since 2007, previously served as Mayor from 2008-2018. He has been actively involved in advocating for community services and amenities, leading volunteer projects, and representing Ridgefield on various boards.
Jennifer Lindsay, a council member since October 2018, was selected as Mayor Pro Tem. She has previously served as Mayor and has been involved in addressing issues such as school funding, affordable housing, and public safety. Onslow and Lindsay will serve in their respective roles for the 2024-2025 term.
Although it’s not quite Ridgefield, it’s still cool to see a Vancouver restaurant be recognized outside our region.
24/7 Tempo updated its list of the "most iconic diner" in each state, considering charm, consistency, and delicious menu items. Joe Brown's Café in Vancouver, Washington, was crowned the most iconic diner in the state, operating since 1932 and known for its belly-busting breakfast platters.
Joe Brown's Café is famous for dishes like the farmer's skillet, featuring grilled potatoes, peppers, onions, various meats, cheese, country gravy, and two eggs. The diner is recommended for its strawberry crêpe with whipped cream and French dip sandwich, located at 817 Main St. in Vancouver.
BevRidge Public, located in Ridgefield, is celebrating its first anniversary in January, exceeding the initial expectations of owners Ashley and Charlie Gurrad.
The restaurant originated from the Gurrads' 2019 plans to create a family-friendly establishment with a "quintessential Ridgefield" style, featuring an elevated menu of upscale bar food sourced locally.
BevRidge Public's popular items include the BevRidge smash burger, Tuscan sausage pasta, and buffalo chicken macaroni and cheese. The bar offers local craft beers, distilled spirits, and wines from Washington-based producers. The owners attribute the restaurant's success to hospitality and express excitement for its growth while planning to delegate more responsibilities to staff.
