đź“° News

  • The Ridgefield City Council appointed five members to the city’s first Roundabout Committee during their meeting on January 11. This committee is tasked with researching aesthetic designs for the central island of the city's roundabouts, focusing on safety and sustainability.

  • Roundabouts have been recognized for improving safety and traffic flow, reducing delays, and being less expensive to maintain compared to traffic signals. Ridgefield has successfully implemented several roundabouts recently and plans to continue this practice in appropriate intersections. The central island of these roundabouts offers a unique opportunity for place-making design, reflecting the community's identity.

  • The newly appointed committee members, all residents of Ridgefield, bring diverse backgrounds and interests to the project. Their roles include researching and reviewing design concepts, considering vehicle safety, maintenance, and environmental sustainability, and making recommendations to the City Council. The committee will focus on designs that promote Ridgefield's history, landscape, and culture.
